MT ToR 7 – Mr Simon D H Holt, Consultant Surgical Oncologist,  Prince Philip Hospital

The  three areas I am interested in are:

1. Tumour gene expression analysis and its potential to select more accurately patients receiving adjuvant therapies post surgical treatment for early breast cancer (Oncotype DX, PAM 50 and similarly designed assessments).

2. Three dimensional breast imaging (tomosynthesis) and its clinical applications as a superior alternative to full field digital mammography, and 

3. Intra-operative RT PCR analysis of sentinel nodes (the NHS developed alternative to Veridex) which allows immediate axillary clearance in node positive cases.
